BREED PROFILE: Chinese Li Hua
The Chinese Li Hua (pronounced ("Lee Wah") is one of the earliest known breeds of domestic cats native to China. They have lived in a wide area of China for centuries and they are known as good hunters. They are a sturdy, well-proportioned, natural breed with gentle, even dispositions. They are relatively slow to mature, taking as long as three years. Females are generally smaller than males. There is spectacular contrast and clarity of the brown mackerel tabby pattern.
This native breed is mentioned in old books and old pieces of literature, such as catching rats, and protecting plants and grain. This breed was recognized by CFA in February 2010, and is shown in the Miscellaneous Class. Additional information will be available shortly.
